Jesus of Nazareth sees that he can never be the warrior king Messiah that his people expect, and he finds a new way to be a different kind of king.
Yeshua of Nazareth desperately wants to be the prophesied Mashiach, the anointed king of Israel, the son of David.
He knows the tales of King David. How David was a man after God's own heart. A man who could charm away evil spirits with a harp.
But King David was also a man of blood. A man of violence. A man of dark passions.
Yeshua must find a way to destroy the second Power--the one that destroyed King David. But first, he has to learn what the second Power is.
My nation cries out for justice, and I must find the way to give it to them.
We are oppressed by a mighty nation, Rome, which we call the Great Satan.
They grind us under their heel with cruelty.
Only we worship the true God of Israel, whoe we call HaShem.
HaShem means for us to live free under the sky, and worship him in our Temple, and be a light to all the peoples.
But the Great Satan crushes us with a sword of iron.
Our people cry out to HaShem for mercy on us.
Our people cry out to HaShem for justice on our enemies.
Our people cry out to HaShem to raise up a deliverer, the one the prophets told of.
Mashiach.
Son of David.
Man of blood.
Since I was a child, my family said I am the one to redeem Israel.
They said I am the son of David.
They said I am prophesied to take up the Sword of Salvation and deliver our people.
Since I was a child, I wondered if there is a thing wrong in me.
I have nothing in me to take up the sword.
I have nothing in me to be a man of blood.
I have nothing in me to be a man like my father David.
But I know it is prophesied on me that I will redeem Israel.
So I will redeem Israel.
I do not know how I will do it.
I do not know when I will do it.
HaShem will show me the way.
I know I will redeem Israel.
I know I will bring a salvation on my people.
I know I will be the true son of David.
Or I will die in the trying.
